Myth
#2 You DO
NOT need to do crunches and sit-ups
Doing
crunches and sit-ups will not actually help get rid of your
flabby gut. It may give
you a sore lower back if that is what you are after.

NOT need to do hours of long, boring cardio
Doing

Hi
I'm Trav...
I'm just a regular bloke like you. And probably just like you, I know what it’s like to be out
of shape and feeling unhealthy. I know how it feels to look down at your
flabby gut and feel helpless
about gaining weight
On Christmas day, 2007, I jumped
on the scales in front of my family only to see it read 23% body fat,
which you may not see as a big deal. But for me being an athlete and usually having body fat between 10-12 % it was
devastating.
That's

cover model that's for sure. I was a fat bastard.
Travis as a fat

Travis found his abs again
I had major lower body problems at
the time and couldn’t run or jump without pulling muscles. Walking
barefoot hurt my knees due to my hips being way out, and the only
training I could do without pain was upper body weights. For an athlete
not being able to play sports, it was a nightmare. So I used it as
an opportunity to bulk up a bit and put on some extra muscle.
Well, my eating went a
little out of control… OK it went way
out of control, and I ballooned especially through my stomach and hips.
Being a fairly skinny guy, it was
not a good look.
But I was prepared. I had a new
eating program I wanted to try, and a special workout routine that I had
been researching for the last year and I was going to stick to it no
matter what.
Now I’m not going to say that I
tried everything to drop the weight. I had already been a Personal
Trainer for several years by then and had already been exposed to the
gimmicks, fad diets, crappy workouts, useless supplements that promise
the world and ONLY deliver a nasty chunk out of your bank account or
credit card. No I wasn't
falling for any of that.
I
already knew what worked, so I just stuck to my plan and within a couple
of months I had dropped 11 kgs and was
back in shape.
Now
I am teaming up with fellow Personal Trainer Clayton Beatty, to

Who
are the Slab to Abs fitness experts...
The
Slab
to Abs experts are Clayton Beatty and Travis Sawyer who have a combined 15 years
experience in the fitness industry helping men lose their unwanted belly
fat.
Travis
Sawyer (aka "Travis the Trainer") is a Personal Trainer
and men's fitness expert in Perth, Western Australia.
He
is also a qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach with the
Australian Strength and Conditioning Association.
Travis
runs his own successful fitness bootcamp business helping people lose
fat, get fit and toned, and maintain a healthy lifestyle, as well as
personal training a few select private clients.
He
has previously worked with major companies such as BHP, Rio Tinto,
Downer Engineering and Burswood Intercontinental Resort as a health and
fitness consultant.
Clayton
Beatty (aka "Coach Clayton") is also a Personal Trainer in
Perth, and has a passion for helping working class men get fit and enjoy
a healthy lifestyle.
He
studied at the University of Western Australia where he completed a
Bachelor of Science (Human Movement)
and a Bachelor of Commerce. He is also a
member of the Australian Association for Exercise and Sports
Science.
Clayton

The
Slab to Abs Story...
While
working as fitness consultants in the mining industry, Clayton and
Travis discovered (not surprisingly) that the overwhelming problem
amongst the working class males, was excess abdominal fat.
This was leading to all sorts of health issues such as
high blood pressure, type II diabetes, metabolic syndrome,
cardiovascular disease and increased risk of some cancers.
Not
only this, but the excess abdominal fat was causing the men to have less
energy, be less productive and make them feel more stressed. And
they were at a higher risk of having an accident in the workplace.
In
an effort to curb this abdominal fat epidemic, Clayton & Travis came
up with the Slab to Abs Challenge, to help the men lose their belly fat
fast with healthy eating guidelines
and fast effective workouts
using
minimal equipment in minimal time.
A
challenge was just what the guys needed. They knew they
only had to commit to the challenge for 12 weeks and the
response was overwhelming, with lots of men joining the challenge to lose their gut using such an idiot-proof system.
The
results of the men who took the challenge spoke for themselves, and a
little over 12 months since the first Slab to Abs Challenge took place
in the mines, we are
taking the Challenge to men everywhere!
How
Does The Challenge Work?
Slab
to Abs is a 12 week fat loss challenge designed for blokes,
incorporating fast workouts you can do at home, and an idiot-proof eating
plan.
You do
a different workout every 4 weeks to progress you from having a slab of
fat covering your abs, to actually being able to see them.
The
workouts are based on a concept called Metabolic Resistance Training
which is all about performing exercises which boost the metabolism for
24-48 hours after your workout. The exercises are fun, but they can be
very challenging!
The
only equipment you need is a set of adjustable dumbbells and a stability
ball (fitball). Combine those tools with some hardcore
bodyweight exercises like push-up and squat variations and you have a
killer workout..
We
